Wilshere to contest FA ban

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has admitted to the FA that he made an obscene gesture to Manchester City fans during the Gunners’ 6-3 defeat at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon, the Daily Star understands.

However, the 21 year old will contest the potential two match ban that is set to be handed to him.

Meanwhile, Laurent Koscielny is set to return to first team action sooner than first expected after picking up a knee injury at the weekend, according to the Metro.

The France international was initially ruled out for up to a month, but now looks likely to be involved during the club’s busy Christmas period.

Elsewhere, Iker Casillas could be set for a move to the Premier League after his camp approached both Arsenal and Manchester City over a potential transfer, the Metro understands.

Despite racking up over 660 club appearances, the 32 year is no longer first choice for Real Madrid and could potentially move as he aims to secure his spot as Spain’s number one for next summer’s World Cup finals.

However, Wojciech Szczesny has recently signed a new contract with Arsenal, meaning that Casillas may be more likely to move to Manchester.
