Arsene Wenger is set to be hand a £100 transfer kitty by the club’s hierarchy this summer, according to the Telegraph.
The Frenchmen, who is expected to wait until the end of the season before signing a new contract as not to disrupt the Gunners’ run in, will be rewarded for his loyalty with funds which will allow him to make signings akin to last summer’s record purchase of Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid.
The club are favourites to win the FA Cup, and in doing so end their near nine year trophy drought, while they are still well and truly in the title race, and can move to within a point of leaders Chelsea with victory at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
Meanwhile, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is set to be fit in time for the weekend, despite initial fears that he suffered a calf injury in Sunday’s 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby.
The news will be welcomed by the club, with a number of midfielders, including Theo Walcott, Aaron Ramsey and Abou Diaby unavailable.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has been in fine form since returning from his spell on the side-lines, scoring three goals in thirteen appearances in all competitions.
