Valdes keen on the Premier League

Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes has put Arsenal on red alert after speaking of his desire to play in the Premier League.

The Spanish international will call time on his ten years with Barcelona in the summer, during which he has won every major competition at domestic and international level, including five La Liga titles, three Champions Leagues, the European Championships and the World Cup.

Whilst speaking to Four Four Two, the 31 year old expressed his admiration for England’s top division, and admitted that he is keen to take on a ‘new challenge’.

Meanwhile, the Gunners are set to battle with Manchester City and Liverpool for Marsielle full-back Nicolas N’Koulou, after the 23 year old expressed his desire to move on.

The Cameroon international has started every game in Ligue 1 this season, scoring one goal, and has been capped internationally 28 times.

Elsewhere, Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko has also reportedly emerged as a target for Arsene Wenger.
The Bosnian international’s future at the Etihad Stadium has often been the subject of speculation despite impressive goal returns both this season and last.

Borussia Dortmund are also said to be interested in the player, who was signed from Wolfsburg for £27 million in January 2011.
