Wilshere given England go ahead

Roy Hodgson has been given the thumbs up to play Jack Wilshere in England’s friendly international against Scotland at Wembley tomorrow evening, the Mirror understands.

The 21 year old is set to make only his second start for his country in 26 months, and his eighth appearance overall, with the blessing of Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.

Squillaci set to return?

Forgotten man Sebastien Squillaci could make a return to the Arsenal line up for tomorrow’s trip to Sunderland, amidst an injury crisis for the Gunners.

Captain Thomas Vermaelen and Laurent Koscielny both look set sit out Saturday’s game, paving the way for Squillaci, who hasn’t featured at all this season, to take his place in the centre of defence.
