Suarez move to Arsenal back on

Having been given a significant amount of money to spend on trying to end their lengthening trophy drought this summer, Arsene Wenger has earmarked a marquee signing up front as one of his main priorities. As recently as a week ago, it seemed that Arsenal were set to bring Gonzalo Higuain from Real Madrid to the Emirates, but right now, he’s still at the Bernabeu.

As the Higuain transfer continues to drag on, Wenger has identified other possible signings, one of them being the controversial yet prolific Luis Suarez. It seems that the Uruguay star is intent on leaving Liverpool for a side that can offer him Champions League football, and Arsenal can. However, he will command a hefty transfer fee of at least £35m if he is to move away from Anfield.

Eager to leave

Suarez will want to leave Liverpool as it feels it will boost his chances of winning major honours, but could he be priced out of joining us? As his situation seems to change on an almost daily basis, a move for him could be back on. After a £30m bid was rejected, Arsene has been given the green light to spend an extra £10m in order to get his man.

If such a bid is accepted, then, providing that his wild side is curtailed and he refrains from biting opponents or hurling racist abuse at opposing players, he might prove the difference between winning something and finishing 4th yet again, but what impact would it have on Liverpool? They will need to find a replacement sharpish, but the consequences could be dire if they don’t.

Going down?

Having massively revamped his squad, Brendan Rodgers will be under pressure to make Liverpool a top-four side, but without their leading goal-scorer, they may find progressing to the next level a little difficult. A poor start could see Rodgers even become the first Premier League manager to face the sack, something that may come as a surprise to many.
