Sagna likely to stay with Gunners

Bacaray Sagna is looking increasingly likely to remain at Arsenal for the forthcoming season, and the defender believes the club can mount a serious title challenge.

The France international has been strongly linked with a move away from the Emirates, with Paris Saint Germain and Monaco reportedly interested in securing his services.

The 30 year old has just one year remaining on his contract, but he has insisted that that doesn’t mean he is about to end his time with the club, and talks of a new deal are on-going.

Sagna, who signed for the club back in 2007, is confident that the Gunners can aim to win a first title in ten years, citing that as the main reason he has remained at the club.

Meanwhile, Ajax have ruled themselves out of the running to sign Arsenal target Adam Maher, TalkSport understands.

Arsene Wenger has been monitoring the 19 year olds progress for some time, and could well make a move this summer.

Gunners legend Marc Overmars, now director of football at Ajax, has confirmed that the club are no longer interested in moving for the AZ Alkmaar midfielder, potentially leaving the path clear for Arsenal to make a bid.
