Ozil shines as Gunners win again

Arsenal continued their impressive run of form by beating Napoli 2-0 in their Champions League Group F clash yesterday evening.

Mesut Ozil fired in an impressive first goal for the club to open the scoring on eight minutes, before supplying Olivier Giroud with the chance to double the hosts advantage just seven minutes later.

The Gunners managed to hold on for the remainder of the match to go three points clear in the group ahead of their trip to Borussia Dortmund in three weeks’ time.

Elsewhere, Cristiano Ronaldo was on the verge of signing for Arsenal before he moved to Manchester United in 2003, the Mirror understands.

The Portugal international was even assigned a squad number (9) before the then United assistant manager Carlos Queiroz intervened.
