Newcastle United have rejected a bid of around £10m from Arsenal for midfielder Yohan Cabaye, according to Sky Sports.
The Gunners are desperate to bring in some new faces after so far failing to land any of their top transfer targets, and have begun with a bid for the France international.
However the bid was both rejected and deemed ‘disrespectful’ by Newcastle boss Alan Pardew, who’s side were beaten 4-0 by Manchester City hours after the offer was made.
Meanwhile, the club have also been linked with a double raid on Swansea City, with Ashley Williams and Michu both reported targets of the North London, the Independent understands.
Williams has long been a target of Arsene Wenger as he looks to further strengthen his back line while Michu would provide much needed competition for current first team strikers Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud.
The Spaniard scored 22 goals in his debut season in English football, and it is thought that a fee of £25m would be enough to see the Swans reluctantly sell, while a further £10m could also land Wales captain Williams.
Elsewhere, the Mail Online have reported the club will make a move for Real Madrid keeper Iker Casillas, who was an unused substitute in his sides 2-1 win over Real Betis at the weekend.
