Napoli closing in on Cesar

Julio Cesar’s agent has claimed that the Brazilian international is closing in on a move to Napoli, Sky Sports understands.

The Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper has been linked with a move to Arsenal since the Hoops relegation to the Championship was confirmed, though the Serie A side appear to be leading in the race for his signature.

Cesar has previously enjoyed success in Italy, wining fourteen major trophies in seven years with Inter Milan before moving to Loftus Road.

Should the Gunners fail in their attempts to sign the 33 year old, they could turn their attention to Newcastle United’s Tim Krul, according to the Daily Star.

Reports in the Netherlands suggest that Arsenal will test the Magpies resolve be offering £6m for the Dutch international.

Elsewhere, recent signing Yaya Sanogo has helped France clinch the Under 20’s World Cup, after they beat Uruguay on penalties in Saturday’s final.

Meanwhile, the club began their pre-season tour of Asia in style after they beat the Indonesian Dream Team 7-0 yesterday.
