Monreal set to return for Gunners

Nacho Monreal is set to return to Arsenal’s starting line-up for tomorrows Premier League clash with Aston Villa after being ineligible for the midweek Champions League clash with Bayern Munich.

Carl Jenkinson is also available following his suspension, though Keiran Gibbs and Bacary Sagna will both miss out through injury.

Victory for the Gunners would see them move to within one point of a Champions League qualification spot, with fourth place Tottenham Hotspur not in action until Monday evening.

If Arsenal better the result of their fierce rivals, they would overtake them with victory at White Hart Lane next Sunday.

Meanwhile, The Guardian have reported that Bacary Sagna is set to leave The Emirates at the end of the season, after allegedly being disappointed with a proposed contract extension.

The Frenchman has only been offered an additional twelve months on top of his current deal, thought to be due to concerns over his long term fitness.

Goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski is also heading for the exit door, according to the Metro.

The Poland international has fallen behind compatriot Wojciech Szczesny and Vito Mannone in the pecking order, and has not featured for the first team since a goalless draw with Manchester City just over two years ago.
