Kosicelny and Wilshere set to return next week

Arsenal duo Laurent Koscielny and Jack Wilshere are both set to be fit in time to face Bayern Munich in the Champions League Round of 16 tie next Tuesday.

Koscielny suffered a calf injury in the warm up for Saturday’s match with Sunderland, while Wilshire limped off after a challenge from Alfred N’Diaye in the same game.

Naturally, there were immediate fears that the midfielder, who was voted man of the match in last week’s England international friendly win over Brazil, had aggravated the ankle injury that kept him out for the whole of last season, though it was revealed that the 21 year old had actually suffered a ‘dead leg’.

Elsewhere, Arsenal target Aymen Abdennour has admitted that he would favour a move to Barcelona according to the Daily Express.

The Toulouse defender has been capped ten times for Tunisia, scoring one goal.

Meanwhile, Barcelona striker David Villa, who has been constantly linked with a move to the Emirates, has been admitted to hospital with kidney stones.

Villa scored in his sides 6-1 win over Getafe in La Liga on Sunday.

Finally, Andre Santos has vowed to resurrect his career as an Arsenal player after completed his loan move to Gremio yesterday.

The defender will stay with the club in his native Brazil for the remainder of the season.
