IAN WRIGHT REVEALS SPURS’ TRANSFER MISTAKE

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has pointed out the transfer mistake made by Tottenham Hotspur when they sold right-back Kyle Walker-Peters to fellow Premier League club Southampton. Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright revealed that he was surprised by the transfer decision madeby the North London club.


The Arsenal legend talked about Southampton defender Kyle Walker-Peters and North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on the Wrighty’sHouse podcast. According to Ian Wright, Kyle Walker-Peters is proving that Spurs were wrong to let him go as a result of his impressive form for the Saints in the Premier League this season.
Ex-Arsenal striker Ian Wright is certain that Kyle Walker-Peters is better than Spurs right-back Serge Aurier. Ivorian international skipper Serge Aurier has featured more at right-back this seasonahead of rival Matt Doherty. Serge Aurier and Matt Doherty have been jostling for the right to start on the right side of the Tottenham Hotspur defence since the arrival of Irish player Matt Doherty from fellow Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers. Tottenham Hotspur paid £15m to sign Republic of Ireland international Matt Doherty.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright sang the praise of Kyle Walker-Peters on his podcast after the Southampton player was named the man-of-the-match in the Saints’ last game, a 1-0 win at home to Premier League table toppers Liverpool. Kyle Walker-Peters was able to neutralise the attacking prowess of Senegalese international Sadio Mane on the left side of the Reds attack. Kyle Walker-Peters has played in all of the 17 league games played by the Saints this season.

Southampton defender Kyle Walker-Peters came through the ranks at Tottenham Hotspur before making his debut for the first team in 2017. His debut came against Newcastle United in the Premier League. The 23-year-old played 24 times for Spurs before leaving the club last year.
