Higuain open to Arsenal move

Gonzalo Higuain’s proposed move to Arsenal has appeared to move a step closer following reports that the Argentina forward favours working under manager Arsene Weneger.

Reports in the Metro also claim that the Real Madrid forward has asked his representatives to begin negotiations with Gunners before speaking with any other potential suitors, seemingly placing them in the driving seat.

However, there does appear to be some difference in the two sides valuation of the 25 year old, with Arsenal holding firm at £20million, while Real are believed to want upward of £25million.

Meanwhile, the Premier League fixture list for the forthcoming season has been announced.

The Gunners season will start at home on August 17th, when they will face Aston Villa while their second home game two weeks later will be the first leg of the North London derby when Tottenham Hotspur travel to the Emirates.

Arsenal’s Boxing Day fixture will be at West Ham United, while they will begin 2014 by hosting newly promoted Cardiff City on New Year’s Day.

The trip to White Hart Lane is scheduled for March 15th, while the final game of the season will be against Norwich City at Carrow Road.
