Higuain agrees Gunners move ‘in principle’

Gonzalo Higuain’s proposed move from Real Madrid to Arsenal appears have moved a step to closer to being completed, with the Argentina striker reportedly agreeing personal terms with the Gunners.

The Guardian understand that the 25 year old is happy with the offer of a four year deal worth £130,000 a week, leaving the club keen to wrap up the deal by July 11th, when they embark upon a commercial tour of Indonesia, Vietnam and Japan.

Meanwhile, Sunderland are lining up a bid for Arsenal goalkeeper Vito Mannone, according to the Daily Mail.

The Italian is reportedly Paolo Di Canio’s first choice to replace Belgium international Simon Mignolet, who is closing in on a move to Liverpool.

Mannone has been with the Gunners since the 2006/07 campaign, but has made just fifteen appearances in the Premier League.

Elsewhere, TalkSport have reported that the club will have to pay £8.5million if they want to sign highly rated Croatian teenager Tin Jedvaj.

The 17 year old defender, who was recently the subject of a failed £5million bid from Roma, broke into the Dinamo Zagreb side last season, making thirteen league appearances for the Croatian champions.

Finally, Nacho Monreal and Santi Cazorla both played in Spain’s 10-0 demolition of Tahiti in the Confederations Cup yesterday evening.

Monreal provided the assist for David Villa’s second, and Spain’s fifth, while Cazorla was replaced by Andres Iniesta after 76 minutes.
