Gunners open up five point lead at the top

Arsenal have opened up a five point lead at the top of the Premier League after beating Liverpool 2-0 at the Emirates on Saturday evening.

Santi Cazorla put the hosts in front on nineteen minutes, thrashing the ball in after seeing his long range header come back of the post.

Aaron Ramsey then doubled the Gunners’ lead just before the hour mark, firing in from long range to take his goal tally into double figures for the season.

The club take their unbeaten league run, which currently stands at nine games, to Old Trafford where victory will take them eleven points clear of the Champions.

However, they will first turn their attention to Wednesday evening’s trip to Borussia Dortmund, where they will be hoping to make amends for last month’s 2-1 defeat to the Bundesliga side at the Emirates.

Meanwhile, a host of Premier League sides are queuing to try and sign Nicklas Bendtner, according to the Daily Star.

The Denmark international, who has made two cameo appearances in the Premier League this season having spent much of the last two campaigns out on loan, is reportedly a target for Stoke City, Hull City, Sunderland and Crystal Palace.
