Olivier Giroud has said that his international teammate Hugo Lloris is keen to join Arsenal from North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, according to the Metro.
The Gunners top scorer is close friends with the goalkeeper, who according to the striker is willing to make the controversial switch.
The last player to move in that direction was defender Sol Campbell in 2001, who after nearly a decade with Spurs made almost two hundred appearances for Arsenal, winning two Premier League titles and three FA Cups with the club in a five year spell.
He also scored in the 2006 Champions League final defeat to Barcelona in Paris.
Meanwhile, the Metro understands that the club are set to make a move for Gareth Barry, who will be available on a free transfer at the end of the season.
The midfielder is currently enjoying a successful loan stint at Everton, where he has been one of the stand out performers in Roberto Martinez’s new look side.
The 32 year old, for whom there has been calls for an international recall ahead of this summer’s World Cup finals, was previously linked with a move to the Emirates before the season began though City were not keen to send him to one of their direct title rivals.
