Flamini own goal denies Arsenal victory

A ninetieth minute own goal from Mathieu Flamini gave Swansea City a share of the spoils at the Emirates Stadium yesterday evening, further denting Arsenal’s hopes of clinching the title.

The visitors took the lead on eleven minutes through Wilfried Bony, though two quick fire second-half goals from Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud turned the game on its head.

Arsene Wenger’s side now sit six points behind leaders Chelsea, while Manchester City moved into second after thumping neighbours Manchester United 3-0 at Old Trafford yesterday evening.

Liverpool in third host Sunderland this evening, and could themselves move five points clear of Arsenal with victory.

However, more worryingly for the North London club is the possibility of dropping out of the top four altogether, with Everton hot on their heels.
