Cesar looks set for Gunners switch

Julio Cesar’s potential move to Arsenal appears to have moved a step closer, after one bookmaker stopped taking bets on the move.

The Brazilian international, who played in yesterday’s the 2-2 draw with England in the Maracana, has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates with Arsene Wenger looking to give competition to current first choice goalkeeper Wojciech Szczensny.

Cesar confirmed to reporters that he is likely to leave relegated Queens Park Rangers, whilst stating his desire to remain in England, and more specifically London; a revelation which led Sky Bet to announce on Twitter that they had suspended betting on the possible transfer.

Meanwhile, the club have also been linked with a move for German international midfielder Lars Bender.

The Daily Mail understands that the Gunners are weighing up a £15 million move for the 24 year old, who helped guide Bayer Leverkusen back into the Champions League at the end of last season.

Elsewhere, Arsenal target Gonzalo Higuain has confirmed his desire to leave Real Madrid this summer.

The Argentine striker, who made only 19 starts in La Liga last season is also reportedly a target for Serie A champions Juventus.
