Cech rubbishes Gunners link

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has rejected claims that he could sign for Arsenal in the summer.

The Czech international told Sky Sports that he deemed the rumour unworthy of comment, saying that it was nothing more than speculation.

The Gunners have been linked with a number of goalkeepers in recent weeks, with Barcelona’s Victor Valdes and Asmir Begovic of Stoke City also thought to be on Arsene Wenger’s radar, while Michel Vorm of Swansea City has been named by the Sunday People as a potential candidate, in a double deal with defender Ashley Williams.

Meanwhile, the club will reportedly make a move for striker Loic Remy, should Queens Park Rangers fail to avoid relegation.

Remy was signed by Harry Redknapp for £8 million back in January, and has hit three goals in six appearances for the Premier League’s bottom club.

The France international is thought to have a clause in his contract allowing him to move on should his side drop to the Championship.

Finally, Carl Jenkinson is hoping that his current club form can help him win more international caps.

The right back made his England debut in the 4-2 friendly defeat to Sweden last November, but was left out of the squad for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against San Marino and Montenegro.
