Arsenal target Bernard has played down reports that he is on the verge of signing for the Gunners, Sky Sports understands.
The Atletico Mineiro midfielder refused to confirm that he is set for a medical with the North London club, insisting that his future is in the Brazilian clubs hands.
Reports in France had suggested that the 20 year old would fly to England on Friday, the day after he competes in the second leg of the Copa Libertadores final.
However Bernard, who has admitted he doesn’t know where his future lies, is reluctant to speak of any move ahead of one of the biggest games of career so far.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are ready to meet Liverpool’s valuation of £40m for Luis Suarez, according to the Mirror.
The club, who saw their initial offer rebuffed by the Reds, are confident of luring the Uruguay international to the Emirates with the offer of Champions League football.
