Benitez lauds Wenger ahead of Champions League meeting

Napoli manager Rafael Benitez has heaped praise on Arsene Wenger ahead of his side’s Champions League clash with Arsenal, the Express understands.

The former Liverpool and Chelsea boss has said that the Frenchman is the best manager in the English top flight, and believes that the club can win their first title in ten years.

The North London club travel to Naples for tomorrow evening’s crucial final match in Group F, where anything other than a defeat will seal top spot, and their progress into the knockout stages while Napoli need to avoid defeat to have any chance of qualifying, and even three points for the Serie A side may not be enough with Borussia Dortmund expected to beat Marseille in the groups other match.

Meanwhile, Olivier Giroud has revealed his frustration at being left on the bench for last Wednesday’s victory over Hull City according to the Express.

The France international was recalled to the Gunners’ starting eleven for Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Everton, and almost snatched a late winner though his speculative effort came back off the crossbar.

Giroud has ten goals in twenty-two appearances for the club this season and is expected to lead the line for Arsene Wenger’s side tomorrow evening.
