Arsene Wenger has admitted that David Beckham is unlikely to sign for the club, despite returning to training with them this week.
It is the third time the former England captain has joined up with the Gunners, though Wenger has stated that it is purely a favour for a ‘fantastic’ example.
Beckham has been without a club since his contract with LA Galaxy came to an end last year.
Meanwhile, Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has revealed that he never spoke with the Arsenal boss regarding a third spell at the club.
The Gunners, who have just two recognised strikers in Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud, as well as Theo Walcott who has proven his ability to fill the role, have less than 48 hours left in the transfer window, with a bid for Barcelona’s David Villa looking increasingly unlikely.
However West Ham midfielder Mohammed Diame remains strongly linked with the club, following Sam Allardyce’s admission that he is ‘totally confused’ by the situation.
The Senegal international only joined the Hammers in the summer, but has a £3.5 million pound release clause in his contract.
Elsewhere, the club have announced that there will be no increase in ticket prices at the Emirates for next season.
