Arsenal will be aiming to bounce back from their Champions League disappointment with Saturday’s trip to Swansea City.
The Gunners will once again be without Bacary Sagna and Jack Wilshere, who missed Wednesday’s win over Bayern Munich, while Lukas Podolski may also remain side-lined.
Nacho Monreal is set to return at left-back, while Lukasz Fabianski is likely to remain in goal with Wojciech Szczesny allegedly suffering from mental fatigue.
Victory would see Arsenal move to within two points of the top four, with both Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur playing on Sunday following their Europa League excursions.
Swansea have won the last two league meetings with the Gunners, though Arsene Wenger’s men came out on top when the sides last met, in their FA Cup third round replay back in January after the initial tie finished 2-2 at the Liberty Stadium.
Meanwhile, reports in both the Daily Mail and the Mirror claim that both Wojciech Szczesny and Thomas Vermaelen could be on the verge of leaving the Emirates.
Szczesny is thought to be put out by the Gunners on-going search for a new number one, while Vermaelen has been linked with a move to Spanish giants Barcelona.
Elsewhere, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have been called up to the England squad for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against San Marino and Montenegro.
