Where would Arsenal be without Alexis Sanchez? The Chilean stepped up to the plate to slot cheekily past Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton in the dying seconds of their recent Premier League clash to keep pace in the title race. It looked like Arsene Wenger’s side had thrown away their one-goal lead when Andre Gray scored from the spot in the 93rd minute but 10-man Arsenal were handed a last-gasp lifeline after a foul on Laurent Koscielny.
Sanchez produced the deftest Panenka to fool Heaton in the Burnley goal and secure a vital three points as the Gunners climbed above north London rivals Tottenham into second place, just eight points behind leaders Chelsea. Paul Merson wants Arsene Wenger to land Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the summer, with the ex-Arsenal striker believing Ibrahimovic would be a priceless signing and if he had been at Wenger’s place, he would not have hesitated for a second to go for the player.
Ibrahimovic has placed himself up for grabs as he has decided to move on from Paris. In his mid thirties, the Sweden international is still counted as one of the best in business and in the view of Merson, his tendency of being very transparent about his views would benefit Arsenal.
