Chelsea emerged as the champions of the latest season of the English Premier League as the team of Antonio Conte gathered 93 points while the 2nd place team Tottenham Hotspur could only collect 86 points.
It was a fairly dominating campaign for Chelsea as they had the upper hand throughout the majority of the 2016-17 season.
Arsenal had to settle with the 5th position as Arsene Wenger and his squad went through yet another disappointing season but despite this recent underwhelming campaign, the 67 year old French manager is certain that his team only needs 1 or 2 signings in order to make a genuine and true charge for the top spot of the top tier English Premier League.
‘’I think this group of players is good enough to come back. They have learned a lot and they have gone through difficult periods this season and they have bounced back in a very strong way’’
‘’I think that will help them, absolutely, next season but first I think we have to keep 90 per cent of these players together and find one or two more who strengthen the group but we don’t need a lot. We don’t need many but we need maybe top quality’’ Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger said as he talked about his squad and their capabilities of making a true charge for the top spot of the Premier League with only 1 or 2 new signings.
At the time of writing this article, Arsenal has so far added 1 new player with the likes of Sead Kolasinac making his way from Schalke 04 to the English outfit in a free transfer. Kolasinac is a 24 year old Bosnian defender and he is expected to make a positive impact at the Emirates Stadium.
