Arsenal’s Predicted XI To Face Olympiakos In Europa League Clash

On Thursday night will see Arsenal take on Olympiakos as the Gunners aim to clinch a win over their Greek rivals to secure their straight passage to the next round of the competition. The game will be played at the Karaiskaki Stadium and is coming as Arsenal’s next fixture after their mediocre performance in their 1-1 draw with Burnley in the Premier League the last time out.

Olympiakos, on the other hand, are coming into this fixture on the back of a comprehensive 3-0 league win over Lamia the last time out. They will be looking to cause a huge upset against Mikel Arteta’s men and will also be putting their best performance in the tie.

Arteta is expected to utilize his favored 4-2-3-1 formation and will also most likely make some changes to the side that played Burnley the last time out.

In goal, Bernd is the most likely candidate and is expected to retain his position. The German goalkeeper will be aiming to keep a clean sheet after conceding a horrible goal against Burnley that was caused by a defensive error.

Pablo Mari will be making way for Gabriel at the heart of the Arsenal defense, and David Luiz is the likely other central defensive option. Kieran Tierney will undoubtedly fill in at left-back, while Cedric Soares will relish the chance of coming in at right-back, replacing Calum Chambers in the process.

In midfield, the most likely options are Dani Ceballos, Martin Odegaard, and Granit Xhaka. Swiss captain Xhaka was a culprit in the draw against Burnley and was the cause of the Clarets’ equalizing but he will want to banish that memory with a great performance.

French striker Alexander Lacazette is expected to lead the line, while Aubameyang could drop to the bench.

Predicted Arsenal XI vs Olympiakos:

Leno, Cedric, Luiz, Gabriel, Tierney, Ceballos, Xhaka, Saka, Odegaard, Willian, Lacazette.
