Arsenal to face Liverpool in fifth round after brushing aside Coventry

Arsenal eased past Coventry City in the FA Cup fourth round Friday evening, beating the League One side 4-0 to set up a mouth-watering tie with Liverpool.

A first half double from Lukas Podolski gave the Gunners a 2-0 lead before the break, while late goals from Olivier Giroud and Santi Cazorla but the result beyond doubt.

The Premier League leaders will host Brendan Rodgers’ side, who beat Bournemouth, on the weekend of February 15/16.

Arsene Wenger’s men travel to Anfield in the league on February 8th, before welcoming champions Manchester United to the Emirates four days later ahead of their cup clash with the Merseyside club, which is followed by the first leg of the Champions League last sixteen tie against Bayern Munich on February 19th.

The Gunners boss has told the Independent that his plan for the hectic run of fixtures is simply to ‘keep the squad available and win the next game’.

Elsewhere, full-back Bacaray Sagna has been linked with a move to Premier League title favourites Manchester City, according to the Metro.

The France international, who has also been linked with a return to his homeland with Paris Saint Germain and Monaco as well as a host of other top European sides, is out of contract at the end of the season.
