Arsenal set to snub Song?

Arsene Wenger looks likely to decide against an approach for Alex Song, in favour of making a bid for Celtic’s Victor Wanyama, according to the Metro.

Song, who only left the Emirates for Barcelona seven months ago, has made little impact at the Nou Camp and reports suggest the Cameroon international would welcome a return to North London.

However, with the Gunners Boss supposedly unhappy with Song’s commitment and attitude in training towards the end of his time with the club, the Frenchman may turn to Kenyan midfielder Wanyama.

The Star report that the 21 year old, who was a key figure in Neil Lennon’s sides Champions League run, would cost Arsenal around £10 million.

Elsewhere, the Metro understand that Wegner has been in Paris attempting to finalise a deal for Auxerre striker Yaya Sanogo.

The 20 year old who last month scored seven goals in the space of a week alerted the Gunners to his impending availability by refusing to extend his contract with the Ligue 2 club.

Meanwhile, reports in the Mirror suggest that Arsenal are to go head to head with rivals Tottenham Hotspur in bid to sign Real Madrid’s Gonzalo Higuain.
