Arsenal remain top after fifth straight win

Arsenal kept hold of top spot after extending their winning streak in the league to five games with victory at Swansea City on Saturday afternoon.

After a goalless first half, Germany U17 international Serge Gnabry opened the scoring with his first goal for the club on 58 minutes.

Aaron Ramsey doubled the visitors advantage soon after with his eighth goal of the season before Ben Davies grabbed a late consolation for the Welsh side eight minutes from time.

The Gunners are two points clear of North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, who were held to a 1-1 draw by fourth place Chelsea.

The club will now turn their attention to Tuesday night’s Champions League clash with Napoli, where they could welcome back midfielder Tomas Rosicky, who has missed the last five games with a hamstring problem.

Meanwhile, Demba Ba’s potential transfer to Arsenal is still on, according to the Daily Star.

The Senegal striker was on the verge of securing a move to the Emirates towards the end of the summer, only for Jose Mourinho to pull the plug because of Mesut Ozil’s arrival in North London.

The former Newcastle United and West Ham United man has made just one league appearance this season.
