Arsenal look to keep up winning run against Stoke

Arsenal will be looking to continue their winning streak as they welcome Stoke City to the Emirates on Sunday afternoon.

The Gunners go in to the game on the back of their 2-1 victory against Marseille – a sixth win in succession, and will leapfrog Liverpool into first place if they better the Reds’ result against Southampton tomorrow afternoon.

Manager Arsene Wenger remains without several first team players, including Santi Cazorla, Lukas Podolski , Abou Diaby Tomas Rosicky and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain but Mikel Arteta is set recovered from a thigh injury in time to be in contention for the squad.

However, he may struggle to get in to the midfield following the impressive performances of returning midfielder Mathieu Flamini, while Aaron Ramsey is set to keep his place after grabbing his sixth goal of the season in Wednesday’s Champions League victory in France.

Olivier Giroud has scored in all four of the clubs league fixtures so far, and will once again lead the line, playing just ahead of record signing Mesut Ozil.

Meanwhile, Paris Saint Germain boss Laurent Blanc has revealed that the mega-rich Ligue 1 club attempted to themselves sign Ozil from Real Madrid during the summer transfer window, according to the Express.
