The Daily Express have reported that Arsenal are considering making an approach for Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel.
The Slovakian’s future at Anfield has been in doubt after losing his place in the starting line-up for the majority of the second half of last season.
Liverpool are thought to be making a number of changes ahead of next season, with Skrtel one of many set to be moved on.
The Reds yesterday announced the signing of former Gunner Kolo Toure, who will join once his contract with Manchester City expires next month.
Arsenal are themselves set to lose defenders, with Thomas Vermaelen and Bacary Sagna rumoured to be moving on.
The club have also been heavily linked with a move for Swansea City and Wales captain Ashley Williams.
Meanwhile, Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Julio Cesar has confirmed that he has held talks with English clubs, amid strong rumours that he is a target for Arsenal according to Goal.com.
The Brazilian international is keen to cement his place at next summer’s World Cup, and has reportedly been told by manager Harry Redknapp that can leave the club, who will be playing Championship football next season having finished bottom of the Premier League.
