Arsenal ‘in advanced talks’ with Jovetic

Arsenal are reportedly in advanced talks with Fiorentina striker Stevan Jovetic, and are considering a move for a second striker, according to Goal.com.

Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski and Edin Dzeko of Manchester City are the latest names to be linked with a move to the Emirates, who have also been told they will need to spend £10 million to secure a deal for Swansea City defender Ashley Williams.

Jovetic has been constantly linked with the Gunners since the January transfer window, and it looks like they could have got their man for under £20 million; more than a third less than the reported valuation of £30 million.

Queens Park Rangers forward Loic Remy has also mentioned, though the club are thought to be pursuing higher profile targets.

For once, the Gunners transfer kitty is of no real concern, largely due to the news that the club have signed the biggest kit deal in English football with German company Puma.

The deal, which is not set to be officially announced for some time, is worth a reported £30 million a year, £5 million more than Liverpool’s contract with Warrior, and brings to and end Arsenal’s twenty year association with Nike.
