A survey conducted by the Metro has shown that Arsene Wenger still has the backing of the majority of Arsenal fans, despite having not guided the club to any silverware for almost nine years.
Gunners’ legend Bob Wilson earlier this week claimed that the Frenchman was working miracles with what he continues to achieve with the North London club.
However, despite being top of the table for the majority of the season, they are now out to joint third favourites with Liverpool to clinch a first league title since the Invincibles season of 2004.
A shade under three quarters of those asked agreed that Wenger was working wonders, while the rest begged the question ‘where are the trophies?’
Meanwhile, full-back Bacary Sagna is heading towards a final round of contract talks with the club, according to the Mail Online.
The France international, whose current deal is due to expire in the summer, and has rejected two offers thus far.
He has been linked with a move to a number of European clubs, such as Inter Milan, Galatasaray, Paris Saint Germain and Monaco though Arsene Wenger is keen to secure the 31 year old’s services.
