Arsenal face forwards headache for Spurs clash

Arsenal are without several key players for tomorrow afternoon’s visit of Tottenham Hotspur, in the pick of this seasons FA Cup third round fixtures.

Nicklas Bendtner has been ruled out after being injured whilst scoring the Gunners’ opener in the 2-0 win over Cardiff City on New Year’s Day and joins fellow strikers Olivier Giroud and Yaya Sanogo on the side-lines.

Mesut Ozil is struggling with a shoulder injury that kept him out of the win in midweek but may feature, though Kieran Gibbs, Aaron Ramsey, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Abou Diaby are all out.

The club’s fierce North London rivals have been resurgent under new manager Tim Sherwood, taking ten points from twelve available over the Christmas period with wins over Southampton, Stoke City and Manchester United and drawing with West Bromwich Albion.

Arsene Wenger’s men ran out 1-0 winners when the sides met in the league back in September.

Elsewhere, Sheffield Wednesday have extended the loan spell of goalkeeper Damain Martinez until the end of the season, according to Sky Sports.

The Argentina U20 international has made seven appearances for the Owls, keeping his one and only clean sheet so far in a 1-0 win at Watford last month.
