Arsenal are looking to sign Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry in a cut-price deal, according to The Sun.
The England international has just a year remaining on his contract at the Etihad Stadium, and looks likely to fall down the pecking order following the arrival Brazilian international Fernadinho from Shakhtar Donetsk.
Arsene Wenger has been a long-time admirer of Barry, and was reported to be in the market for his signature when he left Aston Villa for City in 2009.
A fee of £3.5million could well be enough for the 32 year old, who is also interesting North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, who are looking to replace Scott Parker.
Meanwhile, the Express have reported that Barcelona could rival Arsenal for the signing of Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Julio Cesar.
The 33 year old, who was recently part of Brazil’s victorious Confederations Cup squad, is set to leave Loftus Road this summer following their relegation to the Championship.
Elsewhere, TalkSport claim that Napoli have entered the race to sign Fiorentina striker Stevan Jovetic.
The Montenegro striker has been constantly linked with a move to the Gunners this year, with Real Madrid and Juventus also keen on securing the 23 year olds services.
