Arsenal beat Fulham to stay top

Arsenal won for a sixth game in succession after beating Fulham 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Santi Cazorla bagged a second half brace to secure the points for Arsene Wenger’s men, who remain top of the division, one point clear of second place Manchester City, who beat Cardiff City 4-2 on Saturday and two ahead of Chelsea, who stay third after their 3-1 win against champions Manchester United yesterday afternoon.

The Gunners will now turn their attention to Friday evening’s FA Cup fourth round tie against Coventry City, before returning to Premier League action at Southampton on Tuesday week.

Meanwhile, reported Arsenal target Alvaro Morata has ruled out a move from Real Madrid to the Premier League, according to the Mirror.

The Spain U21 international, who came off the bench to score in Real’s 5-0 win over Real Betis on Saturday afternoon, has insisted that he is happy with life at the Bernabeu.

Elsewhere, Paris Saint Germain are preparing a big money offer for Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye, the Metro understands.

Cabaye, who like Morata was on the score-sheet at the weekend, netting twice as Alan Pardew’s men beat West Ham United, has also been linked with a move to both Arsenal and Manchester United.
