Hamburg goalkeeper Rene Adler appears to be Arsenal’s new number one target after being quoted hefty prices for the other names on their shortlist.
Both Sunderland’s Simon Mignolet and Asmir Begovic of Stoke City have been valued at £15 million, whilst Adler, who has been compared to fellow German and former Gunner Jens Lehman, would reportedly command a fee of around £5 million.
Elsewhere, the club look set to sign Barcelona youngster Julio Selva after the 16 year old rejected the chance to sign a new deal at the Nou Camp.
Meanwhile, Andriy Arshavin appears to be close to agreeing a summer move to La Liga side Sevilla.
Arsene Wenger revealed last week that the forward, who has made just a handful of substitute appearances in the league this season, would be leaving the club at the end of the season, and Sevilla are reportedly preparing an offer.
Manchester United bound winger Wilfred Zaha has revealed that he believed he was only ever going to sign for Arsenal, until Sir Alex Ferguson declared his interest.
The England international told The Sun that “it was always Arsenal” in terms of where he could be playing next season, though United stepped in to secure the £15 million transfer in January.
