Vlaar Unsure About His Future

The Aston Villa centre back Ron Vlaar has said that he is unsure about his future at the moment. According to the 29-year Old, he would make any decision only after having a chat with his representative.

Vlaar was a vital part of Holland’s back line in Brazil. His performance was the key reason why the Oranje had made it to the Round of 4 there without any hiccups. He was rock solid as wall in the heart of Holland’s defence.

After Vlaar’s great display in the World Cup, it has been rumoured that he might be taking a transfer this summer. He is just a year away from the completion of his contract at Villa Park and thus, he is free to hold talks with the other clubs.

Vlaar, however, made it clear in one of his interviews earlier this week that he hasn’t thought about it till now as he had been holidaying for a couple of weeks. He would now have a meeting with the agent of his and then, he would decide what the best option for him is.

Speaking in that interview, Vlaar said, “The club (Villa) is not in favour of me leaving and I know that. There is still a season remaining for my contract to expire here. Let’s see what happens. I am not in a position to say anything right now because I am not certain myself what I would do. I haven’t had the time to give it a proper thought.”

“I would like to talk to my representative first and know what options I have got. Meanwhile, Villa would be playing a friendly this weekend and I would definitely be there. I would not be in action though as I have been away from training for a while.”
