Suarez in shock Arsenal link

Liverpool forward Luis Suarez has emerged as a potential target for Arsenal, with bookmakers slashing the odds of the Uruguayan moving to North London.

William Hill currently have the Emirates as Suarez’s destination after the summer transfer window, just ahead of the Bernabeu.

Arsene Wenger has been on the lookout for a new striker since the end of last season, with the club linked with moves for Wayne Rooney, Stevan Jovetic and Gonzalo Higuain, the latter of which is edging ever closer to joining the Gunners, according to his father.

The Mail Online report that Jorge Higuain has indicated that his sons protracted £22million move to Arsenal is on the verge of being completed, while the 26 year olds brother and agent said last week that the deal was nearly done.

Meanwhile, Feyenord have been linked with a loan move for Arsenal midfielder Ryo Myachi, according to the Daily Star.

The Japanese international spent the second half of the 2011/12 campaign with the Dutch side, scoring three times in twelve Eredivise appearances.

Elsewhere, Sunderland have completed the signing of goalkeeper Vito Mannone for £2million.

The Italian made just fifteen league appearances for the Gunners since signing from Atalanta in 2005.
