Arsenal considering Fabregas move

Arsenal are preparing to exercise their advantage of having the first option to bring former captain Cesc Fabregas back to North London, the Mail Online understands.

The 26 year old is currently on holiday following his participation in the Confederations Cup, and will consider his future once he returns.

Should Barcelona decide to sell the midfielder, a deal with the Gunners would be relatively straight forward, as Arsenal demanded a £25m buy-back option in the player’s contract when they sold him to the Catalan Club two years ago.

Meanwhile, the Metro have reported that the club will make an improved bid of £35m for Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.

Arsenal were initially rebuffed in their attempts to sign the 26 year old, though they are said to be readying a new offer after the Uruguayan international said he was flattered by the interest.

Elsewhere, contrary to reports in the media yesterday, the Daily Star have claimed that Arsene Wenger is set to miss out on signing Julio Cesar.

They report that Serie A side Napoli are close to securing a season-long loan deal with the Brazilian international.
Cesar spent seven years in Italy with Inter Milan before he moved to Queens Park Rangers last summer.
